We are very pleased about your interest in our project! This year’s event, WORKCAMP – PARQUET RESTORER 2025, will take place in late August / early September.
In past years, we have focused on the tradition of parquet manufacturing and installation. This year, our main focus will be on the complex and professional restoration of a historically valuable parquet floor. In collaboration with the Austrian Federal Monuments Authority, we will delve deep into the entire restoration process - both in theory and practice.
This year’s project is divided into several phases:
• Restoration in specialized workshops
• Expert seminars on traditional techniques, material science, history, and restoration methods
• International professional exchange of knowledge and expertise
The final highlight will be the traditional installation of the restored parquet floor in Esterházy Palace—in just four days, while regular operations continue!
Your first step as a participant:
Please submit a structured application letter that includes the following:
• References in the field of restoration, or
• Proof of basic techniques and knowledge in wood restoration
If you do not have direct references, you can alternatively send us a motivated letter expressing your enthusiasm and interest in participating.
You can submit your application as a PDF or simply via email. We will print it and evaluate it together with our colleagues from the Austrian Federal Monuments Authority and Esterházy Palace, following a process similar to a real tender. Based on the applications, we will assemble a team that will bring history to life at WORKCAMP PARQUET RESTORER in Esterházy Palace.
We look forward to receiving your application! Please send it soon to our email address: workcamp.parquet@gmail.com. The number of participants is limited.
P.S.:
Some parquet pieces will need to be recreated as faithful reproductions using historical materials. If you are interested in contributing to this phase and crafting some parquet panels in your workshop, just let us know.
